The Fritillaria Cushion is part of our collaboration with Lakeland Arts. We have drawn inspiration from the visionary work of Annie Garnett, a pioneer in British textile design and craftsmanship.
Known for her innovative approach to natural dyes and handwoven textiles, Garnett’s legacy is deeply rooted in the Lake District, where she championed the use of local materials and traditional techniques.
The Fritillaria Cushion reflects this heritage, blending timeless design with sustainable practices, much like Garnett’s own creations. Its intricate patterns and luxurious fibres pay homage to her artistic philosophy, celebrating the harmony between nature, craftsmanship, and enduring style.
Crafted in Cumbria, this piece embodies OUBAS's commitment to preserving and reinterpreting Garnett's influence.
You can discover her work currently this summer 2025 at the Annie Garnett exhibition 'The Alchemy of Colour' at Blackwell House in Windermere, Cumbria. '
