Each OUBAS piece is finished by hand. We are proud to be preserving the textile industry, passing on niche traditional skills to the next generation and building a regenerative, more local clothing economy in our hometown.
Sharing with you how we produce our knitwear is important to us, as well as celebrating the importance of making to the human spirit and soul. Something often disconnected and undervalued in today's industries.
We carefully craft our pieces using innovative knitting technology alongside traditional hand finishing knitting techniques; linking and finishing each piece by hand.
This allows us to carefully control each process, as well as reducing our footprint by making in small batches, often to order.
Our design process starts with carefully sourcing our yarns and raw materials, developing fabrics and stitches to work with their properties, and then refining our pieces here in our workshop in Cumbria.
I've been buying Oubas products for some time now, as gifts for my dearest and nearest and for myself. They just breathe quality: design, colours, wear, comfort, everything is just excellent.
Lovely to buy from a company that take their craft so seriously and clearly care about creating high-quality products with carefully sourced yarn. Bought two jumpers - one for me and one for a present - and both are beautiful!
The Oubas name seems to be a guarantee of all that I want in a garment - good quality, good colours, well made, sustainably sourced, and beautiful design.
